Is Sims 3 suitable for 8 year olds?

I keep an eye on my 8-year old sister to make sure she doesn't do bad things in the game. The game is good for kids of all ages if they stay away from inappropriate things. Children 6-9 should be watched, and children 5 or below should not be playing.
