XCOM 3 is already in the works, so we don't know the release date. The search for new people at Firaxis to help with a new XCOM title seemed to be under way in early and late 2019. No one can say for sure when XCOM 3 will release, but it's probably already in the works. The date is Jul 2, 2020.
